INDRAWATTIE Ramnanan has every right to be angry. Angry at the shady circumstances which resulted in her losing both legs while still an infant. She can choose to be frustrated, driven crazy by a system which stifles her independence by forcing her to live her life completely dependent upon others. She has every excuse in the book to feel sorry for herself because of something someone said or did that made her feel less of a person. But just as a cancer chews and gnaws away at the cells of a human body, leaving the person in a weakened state, Indra knows that anger, misery and frustration can only eat away at her, destroying her from the inside out.

Lisa Rhonda Ravello, Miss TT Differently-Abled Queen 2012 may soon be on her way to St Lucia after
recently collecting her winnings from the competition.
The Miss TT Differently-Abled Queen Show (DAQS) was held on Sunday April 29 at the National Academy for the Performing Arts in Port-of-Spain, with the aim of encouraging inclusion of the “differently-abled” members
of society.

Four years ago Beverly Jackson lost her left leg due to diabetes. Since then, the 40-something-year-old professional interior decorator and designer has become a spokesperson for the differently-abled community, speaking out against discrimination and demanding change. So when she decided to stage the first ever Miss T&T Differently-Abled Queen Show to be held this month at the Hyatt Regency, Port-of-Spain, she was optimistic the event would spark great interest.
